It does. If you make a mobile order for something that is part of the menu challenge (like if they have to buy an iced latte and they order it on the app) it tracks it. It may take a little while for the app to catch up but it should show up in few minutes. It also tracks it if it is ordered in person and paid on the app, because the system communicates to show what is bought.
I used to work in a license store though, and we didn't have the Starbucks system. We had a scanner to scan the Starbucks app, but in our system, it was treated like a gift card. The app could not tell what the customer bought from us, and a lot of times, we didn't even have buttons to ring their drinks up correctly (like if someone ordered a coconut milk mocha macchiato, we had to ring it up as macchiato + coconut milk + mocha). So let your customers know that if they are trying to work on a menu challenge at a Starbucks inside a Target, bookstore, or grocery store, it probably won't work.
