Cold bar (self.starbucksbaristas)

Does anyone have any tips on attempts at sequencing/making refreshers and teas faster? I feel that’s the part that slows our baristas down the most and any ways to make that section faster would be great lol

There’s not really a way to actually sequence refreshers and tea like you can sequence at hot bar. I just try to know what’s coming up next of the drinks that have been ordered and if I have two of the exact same or very similar drink back to back I fill two shakers at once so I don’t have to put everything away just to pull it back out again.

I was told, and continue to suggest, use ice as a *machine step*. so:
fill the shaker.
start the next drink to that "machine step"
shake and finish.
continue on. however, I do think that even with this, the shaker slows everyone down (so many ingredients!)

The only trick I have with shaker drinks is if your store has two shakers on cold bar (we have a third backup for changing out smallwares) and you get two of the same refresher in a row, I fill up both shakers at the same time and shake with the same lid without having to rinse it in-between. Or if I have a SAR and a pink drink I'll shake the SAR first and then the pink drink. But it obviously only works in very specific cases and only if your store has two shakers and only if there's no one else using the other one lol.

def found it super helpful to prep both shakers before even starting the drinks

Set up two drinks. Shake one, pour handoff. Clean shaker and set up third and cap it then shake second one. Repeat. It really takes no more than 20 seconds to set each one up but shaking and pouring generally takes another 10. Have shakers next to refresher/tea base as close possible so as soon as you flip it over you can start pouring. My inclusions used to be on the counter under the fridge for refresher base so I used to be way quicker people overlook how a bad bar setup can be detrimental to fast beverage crafting but I always rearrange my tea setup when I’m on bar and I still focus on quality (following the lines) although I’d argue my muscle memory for teas is sick
