Hello! I've been a green bean for over a year and just transferred to a new store. I have busted my butt over and over for Starbucks but I always get looked down upon no matter what. All of my shifts know that I can not handle doing both front/mobile and drive bars at the same time I get way too overwhelmed yet after peak I’m always left on bar never being asked if I want to move positions . Yesterday I was solo baring while my SM, GM, and our RM watched me it was not the first time this has happened to me but I was going as fast as I could and they still got upset at me for not making a front drink fast enough even though I had about 15 mobiles before I even got to the front drink in that span of 1 hour my energy completely drained out of me I felt like a walking anxiety zombie like I was on the verge of having an anxiety attack and all I got told was that I needed to be retrained on bar no good job, nothing just shit on for my best efforts yet I’ve been bar 1 for peak Mon-Friday. I’m not sure what to do at this point and I’m sick of being treated like shit and don’t really want to work here anymore

I can empathize with you. Yesterday I was told by my shift that she “didn’t feel comfortable” leaving me on bar alone and specifically said “I wish (other employee) was working because she’s faster than you.” I was so stunned I just looked at her like this 😮 and then she said “she’s better than you but I didn’t mean that in a bad way!” Like...........how else could you have meant it?

I’ve been there for 8 months and my only advice is to find a new job and GTFO. Life is too short to work at a shitty place where you’re not respected. I’ve been trying to become a trainer now for weeks and my manager first said okay sure but now he’s hemming and hawing about it. So guess who will no longer train our hordes of new people? This gal.

I mean , it's not a bad thing saying someone is better than you . I do get where it might upset you , but she was being honest . She's was saying she doesn't think you're strong enough yet to run bar alone . Which , I mean bar alone is really hard. Do you even think your confident enough to do it yet ?

Yes. Especially considering I do it basically every shift.

Edit to add: also, my shift and others obviously have the right to think whatever about me. But keep it to yourself you know? Telling me “this employee is better” when we started a week apart doesn’t make me think “hey, I can try to find more training opportunities so I can be like her.” That is not an effective training method and I can’t see the merit behind a statement like that except to be rude.

Still , a dumb thing to get upset over someone's opinion. Especially when you don't think it's true

Well hey, here’s something. I don’t give a shit what you think is dumb and what’s not. 💁🏻
