We have this brand new green bean who is 16 with no starbucks experience (like doesnt even drink it).
He comes in for his first training shift today and is learning the cs cycle.
*green bean making mocha*
GB: So for like an iced mocha we'd just pour a bunch of this stuff over ice.... Wouldnt it melt its pretty hot.
Trainer: explains how to make it

Later that same day
Trainer: ok its time for our 10, for every 4 hours you work, you get a paid 10 minute break, u can grab a drink and your one food item you get for free each shift, or you can chill on your phone, or kinda whatever but be ready to work again in 10 minutes. Go ahead and make urself a drink if you want
GB: *stands there like a deer in headlights for like a solid 45 seconds*
I..... I..... I.... Don't know how to make any drinks...
Trainer: Oh my bad, well what would you like to try, I can walk you through it :)

Ikr the innocent adorable mistakes they make, really make this job worth it :) until a green bean tells a customer to "stop being a rude asshole, to go fuck himself and to make his own fucking drink" and quits on the spot

Truuuuu i hate it when partners are on their 10 or off and making their own drinks and they just linger... Especially during happy hour

Yeah we get a paid 10 min break for every 4 hours, and a 30 minite unpaid lunch every 6 hrs

i’ve gotten the hang of things pretty quickly, just going over a month. i got cold bar down but hot bar and frappuccinos i never do because no one gets frappuccinos and i’m just never on hot bar
