I’ve only been working for a few weeks but I’ve seen enough warnings about the little white thing for whipped creams. Anyway this morning my shift leader asked me to make 4, and I made sure to triple check for the little white thing to not be THAT green bean. Anyway I made 3 and everything was good, I was in the middle of making the 4th one and as I started shaking it, it just EXPLODED and it went everywhere. And i mean everywhere. It was all over cold bar and my clothes and the menu. Everyone was really nice about it but turns out I’m the first person to ever have that incident since my friend started working in 2016 lmfao I don’t even know what I did wrong and the next shift that came in didn’t really believe me when I said I definitely made sure the white thing was in place lol I think I didn’t close it all the way and that’s where I went wrong. Anyway I just wanted to share so other green beans will make sure to not only check for the white thing but ALSO make sure that the canister is closed TIGHT lol

This actually reminds me of this one time- I have a tendency to shake milk, especially half and half, just cos it DOES separate. So one day during the WORST rush, I was on bar and I pulled out the half and half. Little did i know, IT DIDNT HAVE A LID!!!! AND I SHOOK IT!!!! AND I SWEAR TO ALL I HOLD DEAR, IT WAS EVERYWHERE!!!!!! Drive-thru, all 3 mastrenas, both POS, the menus, my clothes, even managed to get some on the cafe floor. It was tragic.

Reminds me of the time the cartridge didn't make proper contact with the whipped cream terminal and dosed myself with nitrous oxide fidling to get it on right all while all the gas came out. I became pretty light headed and went for a walk until I felt sober again.

DUDE this happened to me. It had the little rubber thing but I think the opening of the canister was dented so maybe that’s what caused it?? That’s what I tell myself, anyways 🙃

I’ve had that happen to me! The little white ring had fallen inside the canister when I put the lid on so it exploded everywhere. And this is why I always do it over a trash can lol

Ah! This happened to me when I was a green bean! I didn’t put one in and it exploded all over drive......while I was taking an order (multitasking). I almost broke the drive computers 😂.

I wasn’t trained properly on CS (my store is fixing that now) I’m 3 months in, and someone asked me to make whip creams and no one ever told me about the little white thing. So last week I made whip creams and the same thing happened. I felt so bad cause it looks so bad at 3 months in.
But here’s the thing, it happens to everyone. I see mistakes being made my people who are like 10 years into the job. Once we learn, we’re less likely to do it again!

I once had a night shift and was zo spaced out I took the steaming pitcher from the steam wand and hot milk splashed everywhere :)
