We need cards that day fuck off and shut up

my thing about the recovery cards is that they say “next ones on us” but then in little tiny font it says “$4 off your next order” and people barely ever read that so they come in and get a drink assuming it will cover the whole drink 🤬

I got punked at a Starbucks with a recovery card. I bought a sandwich, $5.25, mobile order. Went to pick it up, they said they didn’t have it (they never update their mobile system when things sell out). I asked for a refund, the girl tells me “oh, here’s a recovery card” (it was already in her hand with my sticker from the mobile order). I go sit with my coworker to wait for their drinks, look at the card, and see it’s for $4. So they charged me $1.25 for nothing???

Had to go ask for my refund. Is this common practice? Or would you normally just refund a person if a mobile order item is out of stock?

My new manager won’t let us use them. I’m a 6 year partner and been thru a few stores and I’m mind blown. I’m like... why

Today someone called corporate on me because their stars weren’t working, baristas accidentally charged the card, I refunded, gave a recovery card, apologized. I had to coach a barista on not immediately giving out recovery cards... I told them it’s a last resort and to try to remedy the situation before we hand them out. I guess the customer thought I was saying they were undeserving 🤷🏼‍♀️ Crazy. They got 3x free things (recovery card, drink, corporate credit) for absolutely no reason. This person lied about me.. luckily all my baristas and another shift backed me up. Oh and my DM got the report. Cool.
