Hi! I was recently hired on the spot for a barista position this past Wednesday. At the end of the interview I was told to watch for info about a background check in my email for the next step. I don’t want to put my two weeks in at my current job until I get some sort of email confirmation that I have the job, whether it be the background check forms or something else, like an offer letter.
Is it unusual that I haven’t gotten an email yet? Today is Sunday so it’s been four days since I was hired verbally.

Same thing happened to me. My background check email came in about a week or week and a half after I was interviewed. First day wasn't until about a week or so. Had to do the Food handlers certificate before my first day and email it to the SM as well.

Phew! Okay this makes me feel better lol. Did you have to go in for a drug test before your first day as well? The guy who interviewed me didn’t mention anything about it.

Nope. No drug test. Just the background check and food handling certificate. Once you're official though, you'll have to do a lot of online paperwork. Just stuff like w-2, direct deposit, etc.

The background checks take forever!!!
Mine took until two days before my first day. It had me anxious despite me knowing I don’t have a criminal background.
But definitely no worries. It seems like most peoples’ take way longer than they maybe should.

I haven’t even gotten the information about my background check, is that part normal? That’s what I’m waiting on before I can even complete it lol, luckily I’ll be clean too

Yeah I believe it’s normal. After I submitted mine I didn’t get any news until I got a text from my SM saying something along the lines of “Background check came through. See you on Monday!”

Okay! I wasn’t sure since it’s the weekend and maybe he wouldn’t have sent out emails on the weekend. I have the cell phone number he called me on, im gonna give that a call tomorrow if I don’t get an answer. I just hope they didn’t forget about me and find someone better after I interviewed!
