Feel terrible (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by cinnabunniee
I started not that long ago, and needless to say I'm still learning. Everyday I feel like I'm getting better, but I definitely keep making mistakes, and I feel terrible when my partners have to remake drinks. Becauseits rung up wrong. I don't think they're mad at me but I can tell when they get a little annoyed and I'm scared theyll start to not like me. I ended up crying on my 10 last week and I just want to get better. /:

It can be super frustrating to remake drinks during busy periods on bad, so they may be frustrated in general.

That said, it happens even to seasoned baristas! I’ve only been with Starbucks for a year now and still do it sometimes. Or customers tell you the wrong thing, or forget to say iced, etc.

So how I learned to best be beneficial on the register was to ask the leading questions and take my time.

- Will you like that hot or on ice today?

- Is whipped cream okay on that mocha?

- 16 oz good for the size?

Just remember to be purposeful in taking orders, don’t rush yourself , if you’re uncertain then ask for clarification, and do the best you can on your end! I’m sorry that it was difficult and upset you. You got this and keep trying!

You’ll def get better!! Everyone has been there. At my old store my manager would always say you have 6 months before anyone expects you to know what you’re doing 😂

That's completely normal! It's okay :) everyone understands. You're gonna get there! It's a lot to remember. It just takes time. Just breathe and keep going :)
