Please help a Green Bean out(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by TheRosyEgoist
Hey everyone, so today was my last practice shift with my trainer, it went great as usual but every time the shift has asked her (my trainer) what I need most practice on, she always says ordering (so, front and DTO) But I know that I need the most practice on Hot Bar because I’m not confident at all there and can never remember the number amounts for everything, so now I’m scared that I’m gonna be put there and be expected to be good at at but I’m gonna fail horribly. The reason why I haven’t really said anything is my trainer is literally an angel sent from the heavens and I don’t want to say anything against her because I trust her judgment. Im not really sure what to do about this, and I could really use some tips/pointers (at least I know how to sequence right)?

in the beginning, green beans aren’t usually put on bar and your trainer knows this. so that’s probably why they said you should focus on orders. and the better you get at orders the better you’ll get at knowing what goes in drinks.

dont sweat too much about getting all your drinks right the first time, everyone messes up once a while. just ask for clarification if youre not sure, and when youre ringing someone up on the register, on the right hand side the ingredients should be listed for their drink!

You got this!!! I remember that feeling and I know you usually dont get much time on bar in the beginning, but it will all come with time c: and if you have trouble, that's what your partners, barista trainers, and shift leads are there for. Most of us remember what that feeling is like 💚
