Hi stupid Canadian here. Why do you have a tax free weekend? I’ve seen a couple posts on here about it

It’s meant to stimulate sales. It’s only the state tax that’s waved. It’s also not on food or items over 100$. It meant to be used for back to school shopping but it’s when the people who care about those extra 8cents shop. It’s stupid and sucks. My mall was crazy. I fucking hated today!
