Calling after applying (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by i_is_curtis
First off, sorry, I know you guys get a lot of “how to apply” questions, but I didn’t really see this answered.

Do you have any sort of tips on how to call and check on an application?

How long after I apply should I call? What time is best? WHAT DO I SAY? Anything will really help!!!

Do exactly that. Just be like “by chance is the manager in?”

Sorry, and one more question.

If I get to talk to them, just say something along the lines of, “hi my name is ashley, I submitted an application online and wanted to come and introduce myself. I would love the opportunity to work at your store and believe I would be an asset to your team because (list useful stuff: quick learner/ already know the recipes for a good amount of the drinks, I work well under pressure, and have a very flexible schedule)

Are there any other important things I need to bring up?

Also that’s definitely a draft but any help making that less robotic would help.....

Come in person! Make a good impression. At my store 9 times out of 10 my manager won’t even look at your application unless you stand out, just because of how many we get

Would you just go in, order coffee, then ask after you pay? Or how would you bring it up?

I would wait probably 2 days and just say you wanted to touch base. You could even come in in person and order a drink and ask to introduce yourself to the GM. Best of luck! (:

What do you think would be appreciated more, calling or walking in?

Neither are too intrusive. It’s always good to thank you interviewer for the opportunity to interview as well.
