Venti Im too Tired to Completely Elaborate on because My Soul Has Been Sucked From Me Rant (self.starbucksbaristas)

I work at a Tarbucks. We had five people (myself included). Only one was trainer certified and expressed interest in leaving. I talked to my food ave manager, the manager above him, the second in command of the store, and the store leader saying I’d like to get certified in case of disaster. A month of me asking later and guess what? Two people have left from our team and another put in their two weeks yesterday. Its us three running the Starbucks. We have a new hire coming in with only the food manager to train her but he can only work mids.

For reference, there’s roughly three shifts a day: Opener 7:30am-3:00pm
Mid 12:00pm-7:00pm
Closer 4:00pm-10:30pm

He can only work mids because the Pizza Hut is also low staffed and so we share him as mid but he’ll be busy training the new person (so we’re basically pulling whole shifts on our own). I was hired for part time and am at 44 hours this week. My full time school starts in two weeks, and the second in command of the store even told me we have three shifts next week that have no coverage. I’ve been hearing about a store that’s been closed for remodeling for the past three weeks but they need to “get in touch” with them...which hasn’t happened as we descended further into our fire storm. I honestly don’t know what to do.. I talked to the dm yesterday when he came in after he talked to the store managers for a good three hours and he even showed little concern for our understaffing nightmare. I feel there is no sense of urgency as long as Starbucks is brining in money.. nobody wants to help put out the flames.. it’s gonna be me (5 months of experience), my coworker (two years experience), and a green bean who they’re only giving six days of training before they have her pulling shifts on her own. We’re supposed to have eight people for Starbucks and even when we had five people, they got away with it because they half trained people from other departments who never got put on the schedule. I don’t want to leave.. the job itself it easy (considering the high pay) when we’re properly staffed. I don’t know what to do though.. because I want to believe it will get better.. but it just feels like the managers are happy to get more work out of less people.. help.

I still can’t get over that you have less than 10 partners. We run 8 partners during peak everyday...

Krobux has 5 of us and one who works 8 hours.
Sometimes our SB is closed for a half an hour after morning shift is over. Then night shift comes in.
It doesnt happen often but it still happens.
