Any way to learn recipes alone?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by toaster125
So I started working at a licensed Starbucks last week, and the management here sucksss. No one is training me, no one runs the shifts, we all basically just do the role that what we can do, and we are understaffed. We get busy at times and I managed to teach myself the basic drinks, but I have no idea how to make the more advanced drinks (like what to put in fraps/certain refreshers) and whenever I ask someone they just do it themselves without teaching me because 1) they're not a trainer and 2) we're busy. I want to help out more so is there any way to learn the recipes by myself? Thanks!

Uh that seems super against all Starbucks policies and how they run. Something is crazy wrong with your store.
I'm sure there are online guides though. Sorry to hear about what you're going through.

I studied a lot of them on Quizlet when I first started!

Can I ask which one you used? I've been looking around and some of them have different recipes for the same drink so I just wanna make sure the one I study is accurate lol

I’ve been scrolling through this sub and saw a good one recommended, search the username biancan2ckyw 🙂

Your shop should have a folder with all the drinks recipes somewhere in the office. When I was training I would use every free minute to read it and practice the drinks.

Type drinks in during downtine and just look at what they have, move the size and that's the best way. Same thing if you're just getting in a order.
This job isn't woth learning that shit unless you're getting paid! Trust me this way works and you'll be fine in no time. It's all on the pos.
