The new stickers (self.starbucksbaristas)

So my store just got the new sticker system when it only prints out one at a time, I wanna know what your opinions are on the new system and what you prefer?

I miss the old ones. I can’t see I have a venti 6 shot americano now after two ice drinks I could start, and make those ice drinks. Now I pull some and line them on my bar to see. The stickers are nice they come off easy to place on another cup, but they fall easily when lining. It just took some adjusting too.

I agree, they’re great for when you accidentally put them on a grande cup but it says venti you can easily just take it off. I hate that now if there’s something I can double up on I won’t know unless I line them up. Also when a customer asks me “wHerES My DrINk” i simply can’t pick up the long list of drinks I have before them and show them that they gotta wait.

I think starbucks is trying to slow us down. Seriously. Lol

I’m always tempted to start sticking all the stickers on my arms and legs until I find theirs and make their drink while covered in stickers and just see what happens.

I hate it. We were one of the first stores to get the new system in our state (I want to say we got it at the beginning of this year? Not sure) and plenty of other stores in our district still have continuous feed. I like that when we get really busy we no longer have stickers printing out until they drag on the floor and get stepped on, but otherwise it makes absolutely zero sense and I will never understand why they went back to a method that is less useful. Continuous feed is easier to sequence, and partners on bar actually have an idea of how many drinks they have to make and, therefore, know when they need help. With the new system, my manager is always asking if I need someone else to slide and I’m like, “I don’t know, do I have one mobile order or 20? Let’s pull stickers until I find out.”

My store has never had continuous sticker printing and I honestly think I would hate it. But y’all saying it’s slowing you down to only get one sticker at a time, like, just sticker all the cups for each order at a time. Like when a sticker says drink 1 of 3 or whatever just sticker those three, sequence them and move on. It’s really not difficult or slow.

Look I can see why you'd say that and I can't speak for all stores but we straight up do NOT have the counter space for that. At all.

The cafe store I started at (and am still at) has the new stickers, but I’ve worked at a few drive thru stores with the other stickers. On one hand, I like knowing if I can slam out an iced chai before making three refreshers, on the other, a queue is a queue and I’m just gonna sequence and make the drinks in order. Also hate not being able to replace the sticker on another cup if needed.

I miss hand-writing cups a lot, tbh.

but the current system is fine ig
