We don't have dark roast...but we could do an americano

Ive had a customer get mad about that even though they were the only one trying to get a dark roast at 1pm(we brew 3 roasts till 11a) on a 90°+ summer day in DTO

Is it really the equivalent?
benyjair 2 points 3y ago
Well according to a study the caffein is nearly identical but flavor wise the americano will have a bit of crema from the shots. I only do this however when keeping Time flow is essential. I see it as the lesser evil between making many customers wait for 1 customer vs sacrificing their drink thats nearly identical to an americano for the sake of everyones time and workflow. Ive never known anyone having a pallet experiencd enough to distinguish their Americano from a Drip. Specially after cream, the differences in flavor become indistinguishable
