When partners continue to ask customers if they WANT straws with their drinks ??? HELLO??? What's the point of strawless. Lids.

Usually if someone makes a confused face while looking at the lid, I ask if they want one. I know it defeats the purpose but it takes 3 secs vs. when I had the drink off, start something else, and then they ask as I’m on the way out

i conversationally go, "sure! i highly recommend drinking the espresso through the foam so it mixes it together as you drink. here you go!" essentially, bookend the education with some "you're not wrong"s

My coworker keeps giving them out and letting customers know we still have regular lids.
IT DEFEATS THE WHOLE PURPOSE AND YOUR MAKING THEM THINK ALL OF US WILL GIVE THEM A STRAW. We can not transition if people know we will still give them straws and lids.
I am adamant about not giving straws.
I have explained 100x and even had to argue with her and she still refuses to listen to me.
IT DEFEATS THE WHOLE PURPOSE AND YOUR MAKING THEM THINK ALL OF US WILL GIVE THEM A STRAW. We can not transition if people know we will still give them straws and lids.
I am adamant about not giving straws.
I have explained 100x and even had to argue with her and she still refuses to listen to me.

She cares more about the customer being upset.
But we cant change starbucks.
Soon enough they wont be available at all. Im willing to remove ALL straws out of sight. I might not be a manager. But if only one person is sticking to the transition while are not we will never make the transition and customers will always know or demand straws. Defeating the whole purpose of the lid.
We will always have straws for Frappuccinos. Thats it. Thats all they are for. Have a problem? Call Corp. Idc.
Some of us are actually worried about the environment and about following the rules.

We didnt know they were coming so we have a full box in the back.

Ah, my store just didn’t start using the strawless until we went through the rest of the regular lids.

Honestly I work at a busy DT and at least 80% of custies who receive an iced drink with the sippy lid still request a straw. 🤷♂️
