Do store managers actually notice or keep track of which baristas make more money when on register? Or are all my up-selling efforts and attempts to make more money for our store done in vain? 😂

I mean it doesn’t effect your pay rate or anything. We do not up sell at my store. No one gets anything out of it except corporate and we are understaffed because they want more money coming in. We are working our asses off already.

There is a report that some managers do share. We have it posted regularly and helps knowing where each person is at.

Yep! They do! You can always ask your manager for it. A barista at my store worked POS for over 20 hours last week and she had an average sale of $9+

I don’t know that I have any original tips other than that my secret is that the customer never realizes that I’m actually TRYING to upsell anything. I’m really good at sounding natural and not looking like I’m actually trying to pitch that extra espresso shot or cheese danish to them. 😂

Oh gotcha. My store is near a ton of other stores so we are kind of in constant friendly competition to see which store can make the most
