hi i barely get 20 hours a week and need to so i can continue to qualify for insurnace and stuff so im trying to pick up shifts but ppl at my store barely call out so i nvr get extra hours like that.

however in my area people sometimes call out and my manager said for the district they have a group chat too. essentially tho i was wondering if there was a way for me to let these managers know that i want to pick up shifts.

i want to hit 30-40 hours but at this point i just need to qualify for insurance lol

Call nearby stores and give them your info to post so their baristas can have you cover them

Giving nearby stores your information is definitely a good way to get more hours. You can also post something in the back room letting your own partners know they can ask you for coverage if they need someone, and also talk to your manager. I let my manager know that 15 hours a week was NOT it and that at least 25 would be better for me if he was able to do it. Some weeks are still low, but he really does do his best to get my hours up there.

thank you very much!! i'm really trying to hit 30 hours (i get an easy 16 hours on weekends bc i have open availability then) and after that it's hard bc i want opening shifts but some stores open "late" (6am) vs some stores opening at (3:30am) but i really really need the money between bills, insurance, and college tuition yk.

You can do either one! Sometimes it's best to go in person and ask to talk to the shift if it's not too busy. Let them know that you're looking to cover shifts if needed and ask if you could leave your information in the back for their partners to contact you!

Yeah! I think I will go in person... hopefully they need people im barely at 11 hours a week rn :((

Is it okay if I've nvr been to these stores before (even tho theyre in my district)?

yeah...i am transferring at the end of sept for college but until then she wont give me hours and she wouldnt let me transfer to another store for the summer to get more hours....lol
