Trick for the rinse: hit rinse and then pull drawer out and put back and you can pull shots again.

Don’t do it frequently but if it’s a few times it shouldn’t hurt.

I think this means there is an issue with your sensor. Next time your guy comes to service your machine for a real problem, mention this minor one too. We had one of our machines doing that but not the other so we told Jim. He fixed us up no problem.
