I’m venting I guess (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by 666sweetpea
I started at a new location inside a casino (licensed) and I have prior experience at another licensed store and I have been here a little over two weeks

My boss is complaining almost everyday that there is something wrong with my apron

Today she complained that my apron was wrinkly and she said she was going to write me up for it. My apron was freshly cleaned and I rolled it up into my backpack so there was a corner that was wrinkly but there wasn’t a person who didn’t have any wrinkly spots.

I am the only certified Starbucks barista at this location, the chi, mocha, skinny mocha and monthly sauces are never date dotted and the whip creams are dated “whipped cream” with no time stamp and aren’t emptied when expired if I do date dot correctly. There are few baristas who use correct abbreviations for the cups but specifically they don’t even use the same abbreviations every time so I can’t even decode a certain baristas cup

I’ve only been here a short period of time but I am so overwhelmed by expired things and my apron being more important than the quality of literally anything else

Is there an appropriate way to handle this? The manager came from a different department but is still my manager and I absolutely love being a barista for Starbucks and if I leave this location I do not plan on working for Starbucks again but ahhhhhh I am so frustrated

Have you considered applying to a corporate location?

I have applied! But I have never had an interview for one :(

I would call the store and speak to the hiring manager because the location you’re working at is obviously beyond help
