does anyone have lucid dreams about working? maybe its a new hire thing but ever since i’ve become good at learning bar i have dreams where i think i’m still at work and it’s busy. i wake up moving my hands like im steaming milk and stuff and even started sleep walking a little. it’s weird because it’s like while dreaming i know i’m not there but i also really think i am. just wondering if anybody else experienced this or i’m just crazy haha

You’re not alone, I thought I was crazy too. I do the milk pouring motions in my sleep as well and also talk in my sleep very frequently.

I am with both of y’all . and I wasn’t sure if it was just me being obsessed over learning everything to the point where my brain literally never stops thinking about it . and I for sure sleep talk and my boyfriend one time was up playing video games and he legit heard me say “hot or iced?” In my sleep lmaooo

Omg when I first started working I used to be in drive thru through out my whole shift in my dreams I used to hear the ding and having like 1000 cars on drive and wake up paranoid about the times not being 42 seconds 😭😭😭

I have "dreams" right before I actually fall asleep of being at work and being confronted with a problem, usually a coworker bringing me aside to talk to a customer who has a weird/hard-to-fix problem. I always think to myself "wait... this is a dream. I'm not dealing with this if I don't have to lmfao" and jerk myself fully awake. It's been going on since I joined about 4 months ago lol

Oh gosh, this is exactly what happens to me too! I only started last week, but the nights after my first few shifts, I kept having weird, difficult problem situation “dreams” right as I was about to doze off, until I’d be like, wait, no. You’re in bed, not at work, stop it lmao

Yup. I'm new. Had that dream last night. It is the sheer joy of being productive.

I'm sure if I were playing Minecraft for a living, I'd dream of punching trees.

At my first job out of high school (Tim Horton’s) this was super common for me, but they were mostly stress dreams. I didn’t like the job and my coworkers were bullies so I’d spend eight hours a day working a job I despised, and then I’d sleep for eight hours and dream about doing it all over again. It was the worst, felt like my entire life was just work and I couldn’t escape it until I quit.

Luckily, work stress dreams like that have happened less and less to me as I’ve gotten older - or, rather, the jobs I’ve had since have been so much more enjoyable that I don’t mind the work dreams. I’ve been at Starbucks for just under a week, and while I’ve already had a few aspects of work make their way into my dreams, I love the job so far and none of the dreams have been bad at all. I do find myself running through processes right as I’m about to fall asleep though - the first couple nights, my brain would be repeating the steps for making a latte whether I wanted it to or not, haha 😂
