Uncomfy Situations (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by GeorgeCJ46
So... I had this situation where I see a regular pull into the parking lot at an alarmingly fast speed early in the morning, so as normal I put in his order as he’s walking up, grab his hot coffee and scan his card. So he walks over near the ovens while waiting for his food, not behind the line YET, and starts talking to my co-worker who he sees more often because I don’t normally work that early in the morning. I then proceed to realize his card didn’t scan for some reason, so I needed to scan it again. So he takes a couple steps behind the line then reaches all the way over to the register so I can scan his card and I was thinking to myself “WTF, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE FRANK?!?!”. (I used a made up name his name isn’t frank😂) Comment/Reply if you’ve had an uncomfy situation at work, weather it be similar to this or not haha.

We had an older guy come in one day, order his food and stand in the gap between the counters blocking us from going in the back. He stared at the girl running oven and kept asking when his sandwich was going to be ready( there was a healthy line backed up). It made her obviously uncomfortable so I stepped away from the front and asked him to please wait somewhere else besides behind the counter. He looked at me like I was an idiot, and went into this long tirade of how he was a regular and should be treated better, then stormed out without his food. None of us had ever seen him before. It was one of the top two most uncomfortable interactions I’ve had.

My store had somebody complain about our recycling (from the trash company), and without permission he marched behind the line and started rifling through the recycling bin near the end of the bar. Not a customer, but I think it still applies...
