What do you do when well for a lack of better words.. your manager is a bitch? I am a semi new partner at this location and have only been there for a few months but trained and worked at a different location for several months. I am absolutely miserable at this new location. I wish I never transferred from my other location... The employee turnover rate at this location is very high. All the other employees complain and are looking for new jobs. The morning shift who just transferred to this location is the only one who really knows what she’s doing in the way of strong leadership and bar skills. We are losing our only other good morning bar person. The store is awful. The manager is always on vacation and when she is here everyone wishes she is on vacation. She’s always making rude comments, won’t listen to your concerns, and is very absent minded. I requested off for a very important time with two months advanced notice and she still scheduled me on those days and told me it’s not her problem and to find coverage. So I did.. then the person who covered me up and quit and she informed me that it was my problem again. I then changed my availability due to an internship I picked up and she is continuing to schedule me outside of my availability no matter how many times I try to talk to her. Shortly after that she openly yelled at a partner on the floor in front of customers for not warming fast enough when he is one of our best and it was extremely busy and was 30 orders deep in tickets. Keep in mind she is on DTO, could easily lend a hand in the handoff field so he didn’t have to keep running across the store while our drive line was backed up and not moving(in this store our ovens are on the opposite side of the store from the drive through window and the pickup counter). There have been numerous times where she forgets to put in orders and we have nothing. For example just this week we ran out of chai, inclusions, cold brew.. etc. Another time my shift sent me on my lunch while it was slow and she came out after I clocked out and demanded to know who sent me on my lunch and why then made me clock back in and left on her lunch. My lunch was almost skipped entirely that day I had 10 minutes left of my shift by the time I got sent on my lunch and came back. She’s always contradicting her shift leads and doesn’t communicate her new plan, then gets cranky when things aren’t running smoothly due to lack of communication. She talks bad about her partners and instead of trying to fix what they do wrong. Pumpkin spice just launched and a lot of our product is on back order due to high demand. While I was nicely trying to explain to the customers in drive through why it is this way and what they could get instead as a substitute she jumps on the head seat and starts to speak over me “because I’m not doing a good job explaining”. She is also famously known for talking while a customer is talking on the headset then gets mad when we miss the order or it’s not in right but only because she keeps interrupting. It then pisses off the customer because they have to repeat themselves 5 or 6 times. Shortly after a crazy peak I became extremely ill. I pushed through my shift because we were a little short handed that day. She complained because I “wasn’t perky enough”. The next day I did my best to find coverage. Someone came in early for me and someone was coming in a little later to cover the remainder of the shift and she denied it and told me I “called out”. I was still super sick the day after and found someone to cover my shift that day and she denied it and said “she’s too new and too slow to work peak”. In my opinion it’s better to have some help then no coverage at all...put her on pos or window where she can do the least damage if you are that concerned. I wouldn’t be any better considering I felt like I was dying. Don’t get me wrong I love working at Starbucks just not this particular one. She seams so nice and bubbly on the outside but don’t let her blonde hair and sweet smile fool you. She chases off just about everyone who works here. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Or maybe information on how to transfer to another location?
