New CS (at least at my store) is brew coffee & lobby/connecting w/ customers. Basically skipping the restocking because we’re leaving that to the ppl that are in planted positions. Bar restocks bar, reg restocks around reg, warming restocks warming.
With brewing coffee making sure you’re still on a 10 minute cycle
With lobby you’re
Constantly checking restrooms - to see if they’re clean or need restocking
Checking condiment bar - make sure sugars are being restocked, carafes aren’t empty, napkins are restocked, and the surface itself is clean
Sweeping and sanitizing lobby/lobby surfaces - connecting with customers while you’re doing it, saying “oh I can get that trash out of your way for you”, “hows your day going”, “what are you up to today” (the usual connecting conversations + getting they’re trash)
Checking the patio - windows/doors are clean, no trash lying around or trash bins full, no rearranged chairs
Checking RTD&E - making sure everything looks pretty, and it’s fully stocked at least with what we have.
Checking lobby trashes - see if we need to take them out or they’re getting too full
Checking the handoff area - make sure it’s sanitized & clean
I’ve had to train this new cycle to baristas at our store & “do lobby” doesn’t always mean the same thing to everyone. And obviously you’re probably not gonna have time to check EVERYTHING every ten minutes, but these should keep you busy for a while.
I don’t think the new support is the best idea, but I have to coach it at my store, hope this was helpful!!

Brew the coffees, and switch into refill and restock and cleaning in between brews. Set the 10 minute timer and stick to it if you have a high volume store, you will run out at peak. Make sure you refill the cups and ice bins! Do trashes, wipe down lobby tables, restock fridges.
