Why do shifts make you feel like you just betrayed them and left them in enemy territory without a helicopter evac anytime you call out sick?
Like damn Rebecca I'm sneezing every couple minutes and coughing the rest, I should NOT be around food.

Because so many other partners call out “sick” it makes it hard to believe anyone. If you are legit sick then you shouldn’t feel bad about it.

Because assholes at my store have literally called in because they're hungover.

Okay that's a mood at my store for sure and a valid reason to be upset.

I mean it is annoying but what we gonna do? Hope you feel better. Rest and hydrate.

I am a shift I worked sick all weekend because no one could cover me and I sent a partner home because they where sick. I always feel so guilty for calling off but I also have to try and practice what I preach... your health is more important than the company.

Man, I had to call out sick today and my ssv offered to help me find coverage and asked me to try to reach out to people but to feel better. Then she thanked me for trying to help find coverage and not just calling out. From reading a lot of the posts and comments though I’m now realizing my store is a unicorn. My manager and ssvs are amazing as well as all of my partners. We very much function like a family and our dm has called our store “a well oiled machine” multiple times.

Every happy hour at least two people call in sick 😓
