Starbucks Baristas: The daily grind

I am being told that it is Starbucks policy that you can’t take off more than 10 days in a row. I’ve looked everywhere in the time off policy. Is this true? And if so, where would I find this in the policy? (self.starbucksbaristas)

147×× here. I have taken 16 days off in a row for my wedding and no one said anything. The only time I have had to call to set up a leave for personal medical leave such as surgery for a broken ankle.

I have heard you need approval for more than two weeks, but have never seen an official policy. A girl I work with took personal leave and had to call to get that month approved.

Totally wrong. Have a partner who has a second job where she sometimes leaves for a month a couple times a year. Also 6 weeks for study abroad through ASU. There are also temporarily leave on absences so idk what whoever told you that is talking about.

I was actually told that by my store manager. I didn’t know if the amount is up to the store managers discretion but like I said I couldn’t find anything stated in the policy where you can only take X amount of days off in a row without having to take a leave.

Yeah I know I’ve seen six weeks before. AFAIK there’s nothing against policy about it. Sounds like they just might not want to do it and are blaming it on policy.

i’m trying to get like 20 something days off for a internship opportunity. i hope my manager gives me the time off. if not i’ll quit then hope to get the job again

I explained to my manager that I was going to be gone for an internship for three months. He didn’t let me go I was just Mia for a few months. I live in a college town and most baristas are on school, for context

Talk to your DM. In July I took 2 weeks off for a euro trip and I just had to give my SM a ton of warning. I remember hearing about needing a DM approval for more than 14 days in a row, but I think it was in a weekly update so I'm not sure where it'd be in the official policy.
