Am I hired? Am I not? All I know is that I’m so confused (self.starbucksbaristas)

So I had my interview for a barista position a month and a half ago and the manager said he liked my personality plus overall the interview went well. The manager said I should hear back whether I got the position or not in a few days.
But I didn’t get a call back for an offer so I assumed I didn’t get it.
Fast forward to now, an old friend that works at Starbucks randomly messages me asking if I applied at the Starbucks location I interviewed at and I replied confirming.
He said I got the job because he came across my resume (some how ?) and it had a big yes on it. I told him it’s been about a month and a half but he just said sometimes they’re slow with the process.
What is going on? I would call but I feel like I missed the chance to and it’ll be too weird if I call so long after the interview for a follow up.
I really don’t want to get my hopes up.

I used to work at Starbucks. I've never heard of a month long wait.
When I was hired I got the call a couple days later.
I would not trust your friend. Call the manager and ask, it's the only way to be sure.

the store managers are all in chicago right now so that might have something to do with the delay.

Call the store. Usually it’s a good idea to call after a week of hearing nothing to check in, but if it went well then call.
