My manager is pretty great about this. I am in the same boat as you. Been working a little over a week and I start classes full time in 3 weeks. I told her upfront, before she even hired me, that I could only work Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday starting October but for now I can work any day. Monday and Wednesday off because I have classes all day and Sunday off because I just want a damn day off to be with my kids and fam. I told her I want 28-32 hours and that I have a bachelorette party and wedding to go to on October. I was scared shitless to stand up for myself like that, but in the past I never asked for what I wanted and was super stressed and unhappy. She was soooo cool about it, it kind of threw me off that my fake confidence worked. So do it. Ask for a change in availability. The worst your SM can say is no, but I doubt they will if you are straight forward about why and stick to your guns. Good luck!!

I think the rule is 6 months before changing it. But definitely talk to your SM about still adjusting to your schedule, and they should be cool about it

It doesn’t really matter about how often you change it as long as you give long enough notice but if you restrict your availability to much they can let you go
