tall staffing rant (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by aspiringandroid
i was in the hospital last night with breathing issues (i'm okay! i have good medicine! i'm not communicably ill!), and i posted to our work group chat saying so, and asking if anyone could take my close today, hoping that i could take it easy and avoid making my lungs any angrier. i got coverage! but because we have some lovely, wonderful partners who don't understand that no call no shows are unacceptable, and that calling in a half hour before your shift when you call out at least once a week is unacceptable, i now get to work my original shift :)

yay :)

im frustrated because i bust my butt all the time at work!!! i'm in early almost every shift!!! and yet we have so many people who can't be bothered to come in when it doesn't suit them, or can't be bothered to work when they're on shift. guh.

I mean, yes, but I'm not under doctor's orders to reduce activity or anything, and also guilt. objectively you're right tho!! and once my SM is back from Chicago I'm gonna try to have a chat with her about our recent staffing issues, because this sucks.

how can a partner call off once a week and still have a job?????

we had a remarkably bad store manager who refused to write people up, and then he got fired, and then we didn't have a store manager for like a month. new SM is great and is working on many of our issues tho

I worked for corporate from 15-18, but now im back at a license location, a guy who got hired shortly after me would CONSTANTLY be late for his shift, he was once 4 hours late to his 6 hours shift. HE STILL WORKS AT THAT LOCATION. I dont understand.
