Staying Hopeful.. (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by RangerFoxXIII
I work at a licensed store. We get our orders once a week instead of every couple of days. Last week, every store in our district was missing a LOT from our order. Including but not limited to: cold brew beans, iced coffee, frap roast, vanilla, classic, chai. Another store had no pumpkin spice sauce and only two iced teas left.
Fingers crossed that everything is set right today when our order comes in. I think we've been pretty good about coming up with solutions and giving guests something just as good or better, but it's embarrassing how much we have to tell guests we don't have, on top of the things licensed stores typically don't have.

On the bright side, the iced americanos we've been offering as an alternative to iced coffee are growing on people. They're coming back, asking for "that thing you gave me because there was no iced coffee."

I’ve been reading a lot on r/Starbucks and the DPI strike is affecting most of the Midwest. You’re not the only store that’s hurting.

Didn't know that. We're on the east coast. What is DPI? The shipping or production company?
CriticalSheep 2 points 3y ago
It’s the supply company for the food predominantly. If you’re on the east coast this is probably not the issue you’re experiencing.

Ah ok. Our food comes through C&S with the rest of Target's frozen and refrigerated groceries. We get that every day, so at least we got cake pops and sandwiches. Just no Pike Place coffee.

Same except we’re on the west coast. Our orders are missing something every single day for the last couple weeks, and sometimes they don’t even deliver us our milks!! Ridiculous

Ok, I've been reading a little about it. I think Target uses a different delivery service than company-owned Starbucks. Not 100% sure though.

I hope the strike gets resolved soon (in the workers' favor of course).

Hang in there! Working at a Midwest store myself, we’ve been out of pretty much all our food on a daily basis. We’re fortunate enough to still have all our coffee ingredients but it does get stressful when someone gets mad at you for not having the food they want.

Fellow east coast Tarbuckian here!

We didn't receive an order at all last week. We even ordered two days before the cutoff time. The feedback we got was that Target didn't send the orders through in time so we wouldn't be getting anything until the mext coming order. Already tapped all neighboring stores and we're still out of essentials.

Stay strong!
