If you came onto my shift with those on, i wouldn't say a word. I only send partners home over leggings or sweats tbh.

Hmm maybe I’ll risk it soon then. I’m running out of jeans to wear here and as a girl it’s so hard to find jeans that fit well in the first place hahaha

I feel you there!! I stay safe with black jeans but if its too close to laundry day I've gotta skirt by with whatever pants i grab first in the dark for my opens haha

According to look book yes! But your managers personal leniency maybe?

I don't really understand why there is so much focus on individual looks while working, tbh. I'm not there to look cute, I'm there to make hundreds of coffees and kneel on the floor and have syrup all over me. I would never wear my nice jeans to work even if it was uniform compliant.

I keep my work wardrobe all black and very basic so as to be low maintenance, not show stains, and always look put together. I wear one of my maybe 4 very basic Amazon black knee length dresses with black bike shorts or leggings underneath, literally the easiest thing and I can ruin them without feeling bad about it. No VPL issues, everything pulls on and off in seconds, no collars or wrinkles, I can even gain and lose weight without having to change a thing.

Plus my off the clock wardrobe never smells like frap roast.

Idk why light wash jeans aren't allowed. I think they're so cute.

Me too! And these jeans fit me super well. Which is really hard to come by as a tall girl lol

Uniforms aren't about looking cute, they're about looking... You guessed it... Uniform! The idea is to have a more limited selection of colors to make employees look cohesive. It's also worth noting that in a large range of situations, light wash jeans are viewed as appearing informal and unprofessional. While that is mostly arbitrary, it's probably got its roots in the idea that light wash appears "worn" and thus... low class? Whereas the more intense pigment of darker jeans looks fresh, clean, more costly.

Well, yes. Uniforms are for looking uniform. But Starbucks already allows so much that a lot of other employers don't, what's some light wash jeans as well? I don't think they look worn or are informal/unprofessional. That's silly and outdated.
Narthithuth 2 points 3y ago
If anything, the argument that bux already has a lot of flexibility in uniform is an argument against pushing it with incorrect color jeans. They give you lots of options, there's no way you don't have something suitable so there's no reason to be out of dress code.

Yes but who knows if your manager will care.

I wore pants lighter than this today lol. Has never been a problem for anyone at my store at least! People have even worn white pants
Narthithuth 3 points 3y ago
On what planet would wearing white pants to a job where you will inevitably have coffee, chocolate, and worse all over you most days be even a halfway decent idea...
connorthompson2 2 points 3y ago
If ur new I wouldn’t really stress I would just wear them tbh your managers not going to expect you to be perfect and I know a lot of managers don’t mind
chrltsweb 1 points 3y ago
Update: my manager hasn’t even been here and I have two hours left of my 7.5 hr shift....oh wel hahaha
