Bar mocha powder vs mocha powder(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by debrairl
So I ordered bar mocha instead of mocha powder. We’re putting in an EO and calling other stores. HOWEVER, couldn’t we technically use the bar mocha powder to make mocha? I mean it’s the same powder, right? What are your thoughts 🤔

Bar mocha is how my store has always made mocha sauce?????? Is that wrong.... the big white bag?

i think they mean the mocha we put as a topping

Right, just confused because the big white bag says “bar mocha” on it.

Also it’s how they had me do it at a store I was a borrowed partner at

I’m speaking of the 3.25 L canister that also says Bar Mocha. The big white bags are what we ran out of but it’s the same thing?

I don't think there is near as much sugar in the mocha powder that goes in the shakers.

I agree, I don't think it would taste anywhere near the same based on the differences in color even. Good luck finding mix!

I would say no. It's probably safer to be out or offer skinny mocha as an alternative until you can borrow some. From experience, it definitely doesn't taste the same :/ good luck!

Thank you!! Glad someone had already tried it, that’s what I was hoping for overall. This is super helpful though, we won’t make it w the canister if it’s that different from the normal stuff. :)

No problem! Now that I think about it, I think it's mostly just not meant to be watered down in that way. But it might be worth it to offer to mix just the poder into the drinks?
