Got yelled at by a coworker and customer for putting vanilla syrup in an iced cold brew vanilla sweet cream bc apparently for those two it’s just cold brew and sweet cream(self.starbucksbaristas)

Funny part is my manager told me I was right 🤔🤔. I got called an idiot by a customer and everyone was staring at me. I cried and then that same coworker made a side comment about me needing to take a 5 min break to cry. Why are people so mean????
Edit: just to clarify my store doesn’t have nitro.

It gets vanilla when it’s regular cold brew and it doesn’t get vanilla when it’s nitro

Was just about to say this.

You are right. Your coworker probably doesn’t shake teas, too. Just keep following your training! 😊

That coworker needs a harsh talking talking to. Good on you for sticking to your guns when you knew you were right! They were probably just embarrassed to be wrong and retaliated by being nasty because they had nothing else to do. Don’t think on it in regards to you. I’m sure you’re doing a great job ✨

I love how customers think they know how to make all these drinks. The store I work at we always try to go by standards on drinks unless they ask for a certain way they want their drinks. Your coworker was wrong for yelling at you for making the drink wrong.

Double check your recipe cards or even pull it up on the POS to see the ingredients.

Definitely tell someone - a shift, an ASM, your SM - about that co-worker's attitude, because that is NOT how to be a team player -- which in theory is what Sbux is all about.
As others have said you're right about the recipe- All your darn coworker needed to do to even check is to look at the recipe that pops up when you punch it in on POS. And if the custy has a fucking problem with the vanilla, then they can just get their stupid cold brew, hold the vanilla. Jesus Christ. There's just no need for them to be assholes to the person helping them. I was never nearly as cynical about people before I became a barista, but I feel like the emerging fast-casual-efficiency aspect of Sbux really brings out the worst in some customers. I'm sorry this happened to you. :(
