Today my cafe manager messaged me that she didn’t have coverage until 2 but I have class all day (im unavailable on mondays) ...but i still feel like i should help esp since im a new hire 😭 i feel bad saying i cant go

Don’t. You’re not obligated to help when you’re not scheduled. I used to get like this too. Sometimes there’s just nothing u can do homie

NEVER choose to work prior to your school. You will regret this after you figure out this is some BS.

I can guarantee you, there are hundreds of baristas in your district. You do not hold any responsibility for the flow of things on your day off, and you are most certainly not the only person who isn't working who could be asked to come in. Of course it's good practice to say yes whenever you can, but you need to prioritize school and they need to respect your availability. 💕
