last night a man who goes by the name “Hung”, someone known for being creepy towards our female coworkers and stares a lot, was caught masturbating to one of my coworkers and when she told me frantically that she had to leave the floor my manager asked if I saw Hung in the cafe. when I looked up he was staring at me while he continued to touch himself. when he realized all of us saw him he panicked and fled the cafe. next to him were two 16-year olds, an older lady, a man working quietly on his computer. he didn’t care. we did what was required, we called it in and our store manager came in immediately. the police were notified and took in a report. but the rest of the night was quiet for us, we worked quietly when usually we laughed and joked and had fun. my shift felt guilty for not being able to protect us and the customers better but we don’t feel any resentment towards him... it’s just not his fault. the rest of the night I was suspicious of every male customer. I felt paranoia if I felt like someone was sitting facing me, I felt like I was being watched. we are supposed to be a third space, we are supposed to feel safe at work. and while i’m glad i’m not going into work tonight, I can’t say the same for the other closers tonight. I hate him. I hate this man that violated my safety, my coworkers and myself. he’s disgusting and I daydream of throwing boiling water on his groin if I ever see him again
