Rude partners! (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by sweetangel622
I’ve been a partner for a long time and it
used to be so fun. We had a great team, we were all friends and would hang out outside of work on a regular basis. We were like a work family, and to this day I’m close with some of them... I met some of my best friends through that group

Well now a lot of that gang left and the team now is so different.

I’ve noticed all the new hires have no manners. There’s been a shift of behaviour. New hires don’t introduce themselves anymore, they will just walk in and not acknowledge me at all. It’s very disrespectful and also very bizarre like where are your manners?

In general, people don’t really say hello anymore when they come in to work, or goodbye when they leave. I find it incredibly rude especially since the old team we were so kind to each other.

I feel that in general the vibe is so negative and low energy now. I try to be fun and uplifting but it’s getting really hard when I’m met with negativity every time.

Is it just my store or does anyone else notice this rude, cold, distant behaviour?

I’ve worked places with coworkers who had shitty attitude and lemme say, you gotta fix that ASAP! It drains any and all positivity and you’ll hate coming to work, and eventually quit. Talk to your managers about it, see if they can improve the new hires attitudes. Starbucks’ whole motto is being the “third place” well how can they do that if nobody wants to be there?

When the boss and team goes to shit, it's time to leave or transfer. As with any job.

Had to leave my engineering gig last year because it grew incredibly toxic really fast. I never looked back at those miserable fucks. My new team kicks ass.
