Manger concerns (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by linagarcia17
So I came back from my maternity leave in July and I was suppose to go over my pdp with my manger the day when we were suppose to go over it he didn’t show up, we rescheduled again and he didn’t show up again then this week he was going to go over mine and then go over another partners at my work and he didn’t show up. This is the third time and I’m not sure what to do. I just wish I could go to another store or meet with another manger that can help me become an asm and get to my goals. Any advice of what I should do?

If a manger was good enough for the Messiah...

Options:

Talk to your SM directly, or email them and express your frustrations in a polite / professional manner

Call Partner resources and ask for advice

Email your DM and ask about transferring to a store with an SM that would be good for developing you to be an ASM

Cover shifts at stores you may want to work at, get to know their SM, and discuss transferring with that SM

So we don’t have a dm at the moment our old dm just quit and I am trying to work at other stores but my manger has a problem with me and some other partners working at other stores because he needs help at ours. I tried working at a drive thru Starbucks on Tuesdays for a few months since there store is short staff and he told me I can’t because he needs people on Tuesdays. I’ve tried transferring as well and still can’t find a place to transfer at.

I recommend calling around to every starbucks you can commute to.

If you were working there it’d be a good chance to get to know the store, but if you want to get out of yours you’ll need to enlist the help of another SM or a DM. Your district might have an interim DM or a regional manager might be doing that job right now and you could contact them.

Generally, keep on your SM if that’s possible. Hand them a formal transfer request (can be printed off the portal) with a date on it to start documenting your experience.
