Well, that partner will probably get fired, as they should
Typically what will happen is PRSC (partner resources support center) aka PCC (partner contact center) will open an investigation. That information will get sent to the lead investigator of your area (it differs by either state or region). They reach out to your DM and SM with ‘next steps’. (They have to be prepared for possible separation of said partner).
While they wait for those ‘next steps’ the investigator will call either the store or your cell. They ask a bunch of questions & if there were witnesses. Then they’ll call those witnesses, ask questions.
And while you wait to know what’ll happen, the investigator will reach out to your DM and SM with instructions per procedure.
Hope this helped... dealt with PRSC one too many times. I’m also sorry that the partner slapped you? Joking or not, people need to learn some boundaries.

Time frame depends; though. Sometimes it will take the investigators a long time or a short period of time to gather all of the information they need. That might happen if they have a lot of cases built up at once or if they have a lot of partners to reach out to as witnesses, of if stories aren’t matching up, etc. etc. Try to be as patient as you can. Ask for SM follow up questions if days/ weeks are passing by without word.

Definitely depends on the caseworker's load. It got so backed up years ago in my area that the PRM (partner resources manager) had to take calls, which is unheard of, but she was a great manager. Really helped them get on track because it hasn't been backed up like that in a long time.
*Typically* it can range from 3-5 business days, however, with holidays in mind it may take longer. If one witness who was called on say Tuesday doesn't get back to them until Friday, that will also push it into the next week.
