Rude lady with no ice drinks(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Nalshyu
Now let me preface this by saying I know when drinks have no ice people fill them all the way to the top; i was told ur supposed to do that but to stop at the black line but ppl argue and whatnot.
Rude lady wants 6 strawberry açaí lemonade with no ice. She almost made my barista cry and when said barista asked for clarification on the order the lady says “wow you must be having difficulty hearing today.” In a snide tone.
So I filled her drinks to the black line and told her what I was told. Was I being petty? Yes. She’ll probably call and complain tomorrow but I work tomorrow too boo so see you then.

Semi-relevant rant:
Honestly I don’t have these feelings.
Who cares if someone wants no ice? Who cares if they just trying to “work the system”?
Does anyone barista benefit AT ALL from not filling up a no ice drink? Likewise does it make any difference if there is ice?
Idk maybe it’s just me, but I couldn’t care any less how or what people order. I’m still making minimum wage and Starbucks is still a billion dollar corporation making obscene amounts of money.

Love you guys

if she hasn’t gone out of the way to be rude to my barista and huff and puff through her order when we asked her to clarify then I wouldn’t have minded? Especially cause I’ve filled it before.
It was the fact I was in the midst of making these 6 drinks that she said that so rude comment that I said whatever ima be petty idc.

I feel you. Rude customers are the worst. I like giving them decaf just to spite them.

I understand where you’re coming from, but at least have to hold yourself to some standard. Especially when it comes to appeasing rude customers that are most likely rude to other customer service workers.

exactly. who tf cares, we're not paid by commission. and how much money does starbucks pull yearly? they don't give a shit about two oz of milk.
if i order a no-ice drink, it's because i don't want it to be watered down when i'm still drinking it in an hour or two.
if some sad, angry barista pulled a dumb stunt like this because it's the only way they get to feel in control of their petty little starbucks life, well that's going to be with them until they decide to change their attitude, but my drink is only gonna be watered down until the bottom of the cup. oh, and i'm probably not going back to spend my money at that location.
so maybe some of yall should think about who's *actually* winning; your life is still petty, (your) starbucks lost a customer, and the customer probably forgot about it by the time they got home.

Okay this was a little aggressive, but yeah I feel you.
On the same token, who cares if (your) Starbucks lost a customer??

The actual rule is to always serve a full cup. Is it annoying? Yes. But that’s the rule.

Okay guys. This is what you do. You make the drink as normal, all normal ingredients/quantities. Then instead of ice you add water. That way the customer gets the satisfaction of thinking they found the loophole, and you get the satisfaction of knowing they didn’t.
Of course if they ask for no water then this doesn’t work, but it’s at least one small way to easily serve these assholes with a smile.
If they are nice and polite, though, I’ll return the courtesy and make the drink without the extra water. I can’t stand the people who think they’re pulling a sneaky on ya, tho.
Oh yeah and iced lattes/espresso drinks, don’t put water in those either.
