Whenever you're training, make sure not to teach them any of your personal habits, only standards and routines. don't show them shortcuts for anything so their habits follow standard.

I like to let the new barista know that as their trainer you are always there for them for guidance or just someone to talk to, even after their training is completed. I always tell them that I would rather them ask me the same question 10 times and not to be embarrassed by re-asking.
It can be an overwhelming job if you work at a highvolume location. I just let them know to breath and if they ever need a moment that they have every right to come to me or their shift and say they need a few min off the floor to collect themselves.
