Store manager attempting to withhold my transfer. (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by spoopyboogie
So my dm approved my transfer a couple weeks ago to another store. Today he informed me I had compliance training I hadn’t finished. I’ve finished all of my training aside from my food management training and exam. I didn’t have my training finished in time to take my exam. He’s now telling me I won’t be allowed to ya get out of the store until that’s all done when my dm already approved the transfer. Is there any way he can keep me at his store or is he just trying to rattle my cage?

The above is correct it is now policy that training is complete.

Good news is you can do it from home.

Google partner hub log in like normal go to retail training and then my learning. Complete the training and you will be good.

Even with my dm approving the transfer and my schedule for the store already being made?
caddery13 1 points 3y ago
Yes it’s a new policy that has been rolling down. Just complete your training
METAXILLUS 1 points 3y ago
If you are on the schedule you go to that store.

You are no longer at your old store.

Your SM SHOULD have had you go through that training and had you stay up to date, but it’s common for them to totally blow off the development of their baristas.

Ignore your SM. Talk to your DM.

It’s policy that your training has to be up to date before a transfer
spoopyboogie [OP] 1 points 3y ago
But the transfer has literally been approved by my dm??
cortvicious 2 points 3y ago
The dm approval only means that the DM hasn’t identified any performance issues and that your store wouldn’t fall into shambles if they transfer you. It doesn’t mean you get to bypass safety regulations.
METAXILLUS 0 points 3y ago
That’s not true, his SM already bypassed safety regulations. It’s not OPs fault that his SM dropped the ball and his DM made those moves without his SM.

Edit: why are you downvoting me?
Your SM doesn’t need you certified to work there but you have to be certified to transfer?

That’s bullshit.

My old store manager tried to do something like this. He was mad because he didn’t want me to leave. I picked a new store and worked with my new manager and she plucked me out of the system into her store. The whole problem is I moved an hour away so I didn’t want to drive. I finished training at my new store.
