So i was wondering, if i wanted to take a shift at another store that’s not within my district, can i?

Has to be approved by both your SM and theirs. Typically that kind of stuff doesn’t get approval because they would have to pay you mileage and could probably find coverage closer to them.

Mileage isn't a thing for covering shifts. Not so far as I am aware.

It is and if your SM says it’s not contact the Partner Contact Center to clarify details within your state.

i’ve done it but it’s easier in nyc since wage is the same in all 5 boroughs.

It's harder to get it approved, because fact is they can find coverage in their same district. Payroll is only allowed in your state, I believe. If you go to another it may be harder, there's paperwork your manager has to do idk, it depends honestly. Just ask your SM.
