Starbucks Baristas: The daily grind

It's one thing for a customer to yell at you based on a policy your own manager set up, but its another for them to then speak to the manager, call you a bitch for being rude to them, and for your manager to agree to try and make the moment right 🤷🏼‍♀️ (self.starbucksbaristas)

Someone threw their coffee at me in the drive and my SM saw and their way of handling it was to apologize to THEM, have me remake their drink, and ask after if I “was nice enough after or do I think they’ll call corporate?” Fuck that guy, and fuck letting the customers kick our teeth in while we smile.

Starbucks is wrong to allow this to continuously happen to its partners. I'm so sorry that happened to you 💖

Your SM should NOT have done that. Their job is to fill out an incident report and possibly even contact the DM. Starbucks is supposed to be a third place for partners too.

Thank you, exactly. I was pretty new when it happened. Almost three year partner me wouldn’t take that shit. I take care of the baby partners and don’t let anyone treat them wrong, I just wish I didn’t have to learn that lesson the way I did.

If there’s one thing I enjoy about my SM, it’s that she refuses to let our customers bully us. Lol. I think she just feels like nobody can bully us but her sometimes. I mean she doesn’t really do anything out of pocket but it’s a fun time. Constantly she’s talking about how she wants the customers and partners to be comfortable and I really respect that from her. Totally wrong for a manager to not protect their partners too.

Man that's crazy. My SM would die for us. She'd never let us experience that. I'm so sorry management is like this in some places.
