Making the moment right (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Torminatorii
Sorry, I really do love my job and I love working with customers and seeing them smile, but there’s a difference between making the moment right and essentially encouraging people to be entitled and rude. Hi, sorry, don’t get paid enough to let you yell at me because the music is too loud or because you’re drunk is wrong while I’m not on bar 🤷‍♀️

I had a chat with a random guy on my campus today. We covered all the bases, where we’re from, what majors we are and all that getting to know eachother talk. We talked about a bit of politics and things that we are passionate about but when we got to jobs & I said that I worked for Starbucks his mood shifted and he immediately started yelling that he sees many people getting free things at Starbucks and he has never received a free item. He then aggressively told me that he spend so much on Starbucks and deserves more as if his money was going directly into my pocket. I showed him the rewards app and then we sat in silence for a few hours.

I made a post so similar to this one just a few hours ago. It's so gross how universal this problem is within Starbucks

Honestly it’s sad that it has to be this way. You Sh hold be able to trust people and trust that they’re telling the truth or won’t take advantage of you. That’s the whole reason we have the policies we have: to create a place of safety and trust. It’s just sad that so many people take advantage of that.
