i don't think our oven has been cleaned once since i started working here three months ago, can someone tell me why i just willingly cleaned it despite knowing no one is going to care? (i.redd.it)

Because you care ❤️ used to do this stuff all the time (LS) someone thought I broke the coffee grinder I took it apart to clean it doubt anyone had cleaned it in years.

once our TL (i'm at a tarbucks) told me where the grease remover was i was waiting for the next time i closed to give it the cleaning it deserved and needed. i kind of wish i took a before picture because it was a disaster

Looks great! 👍 it's crazy to hear how some stores keep their stuff cleaned. We clean ovens daily, syrup pumps completely taken apart every time they are changed, an urn for each day of the week to deep clean. We get borrowed partners who don't know how to take pumps apart!

we're pretty good at keeping everything else, it's just some of the bigger things that should really be cleaned regularly (see the oven lol) that we seem to gloss over for some reason. i feel like we never have enough people scheduled at a time for one of us to sneak off and clean what we need to idk

i just attacked it with our grease remover spray and a scrubbing sponge. it took about 15-20 minutes to get it where i got it to. i rinsed it with some water and cleaned it off with paper towel in between rounds of the grease remover, i'm not sure how much longer it would've taken me to clean it perfectly but some of those spots did not want to come off. i know some people have a scrapper thing, but i don't think we do so i just used a sponge

Seriously our ovens get cleaned maaaaybe once a week? Them shits are supposed to be cleaned every day or so. I really buckled down and deep cleaned one of our two ovens the last time I was assigned the task.

it's probably likely some of the other barista at my store have cleaned it here or there, but unless my memory is failing me i've never seen anyone deep clean ours, but give me the chance and i'll deep clean everything i can. i hate seeing things in our store so dirty, it drives me insane

Oh definitely :( today I cleaned our sinks and they were so filthy they needed several coats of bleach and a deep scrubbing. I did this because I kept smelling something nasty and my coworker said “oh yeah sometimes it just stinks and it goes away in a couple hours.” Like really!??? That’s unacceptable. All these things people let slide because they’ve gotten lazy are not just a health hazard to guests, but to us as well
