It's totally okay! You're learning and eventually you'll be so good at it, you won't even have to think about it! It takes time to learn, and the best way to learn is by doing. Soon it will be like second nature and you'll be taking orders and connecting at the same time without even realizing you're doing it.

It’s a learning experience!! Don’t be too hard on yourself, I felt like I learned how to have more conversations with customers once I got more comfortable with what I was working on, either reg or bar. Give yourself time! :)

Very true! I’ve been with Starbucks for a year and I have a good amount of social anxiety and really only recently in the past few months have I gotten pretty good with customer connection. It’s definitely a learning experience! Just be as nice as possible and ask how people’s days are going. The confidence will come with experience :) it takes most people at least two months to be efficient with every and connect. Wish you much luck and I encourage you to keep going at a comfortable pace.

I totally promise you will get better! Took me a good 6 months before I was feeling totally comfortable. So much to learn!

You’re absolutely fine! It takes time to get comfortable with it. The first time I was on register, I was literally shaking I was so terrified. I screwed up more than a couple of times. But now, register is my absolute favorite!

Don’t be too hard on yourself! What helped me was taking a photo of each tab on register and trying to memorize the buttons! You got this, it’s a process and takes time!
