90% of our staff have not been here for launch.. most of them haven’t even been here for more than like 6 months.. Our store has been an actual mess for like 8-9 months and if we can’t even run a normal day without mental breakdowns because a small group is working too hard and the majority just sits around. I’ve been in a genuine hell for months just trying not to lose my mind and I’ve spiraled into horrible depression.
I’m genuinely terrified for tomorrow. I work 6-2 and I’ve already cried twice just thinking about it. We are a super busy store as it is on normal days.
No one has had true training and I had to explain to six partners today what a red cup was and what that means.
I’m scared y’all.

Do you work at my store??! Honesty, tomorrow is going to suck. People are going to be assholes and they're going to be upset that you ran out of red cups, and when 2 comes around, you get to go home, take a shower, and watch a movie. The day will go on, it will all be okay and you're going to do the best you can.

Oh thank you for that. Remembering that I can just come home and relax is something I’m going to need because I’ve never been so genuinely scared about a shift before. But I’m so worried I’m gonna have a mental break. Last year was horrifying and we had a killer staff then. I’m scared I’m going to start losing it and then I’m going to try and go collect myself and then get in trouble.

Whenever I feel like I'm about to have a mental breakdown and if time permits, I offer to do tasks that other people hate. Cleaning dishes or doing a trash run is so nice sometimes when you're feeling overwhelmed. If that's not something that you're able to do, though, escaping to the bathroom for just a moment, or just standing in the back to breath for a second works as well. You shouldn't get in trouble for collecting yourself; how are we supposed to make the moment right if we want to rip Karen's face off? <3

Our store like puts those tasks off so much. Garbage wasn’t taken out for the first time until noon today. I did it but it was literally like 4 trips. And then dishes were still piling up. When I come in for closes at 2 or 3, the entire 3 compartment will be overflowing with just dirty dishes. It’s gross. I’m going to try and find moments to collect myself but yeah because so many people just walk away or do nothing, I never get a chance to go just breathe. People literally freak out. I went to go put a drink down and I hadn’t even made it completely through the door to the back when people were asking for me over the headset. It’s rough. But I’m gonna try my best to survive.

I believe in you!! Do something after work for yourself, something that will separate your workday from your regular day. That's the only way I've been able to stay even remotely sane in this job!

I tried to transfer but you can’t without the managers approval. I’m starting to look elsewhere.. it just sucks cause I’m so good at this and technically I really like this job. But our store is quite literally drowning because of new manager and all of these god awful decisions and now I feel so torn. I hate that I’m the one being forced out when I actually want to be there. I’m scared to contact our dm or anybody because Ive seen people suffer consequences here for stuff like that.

Your manager can not deny it for more than 60 days. Submit the request now. Don’t be afraid to contact your DM.

As long as you’re in good standing, and have been there for 60 days you can request a transfer. If she denies it, ask her why. If she keeps denying it talk to your DM. She can’t do that to you. If you say you moved that is a pretty foolproof way to get transferred

I work 6:30-2 tomorrow most the baristas in my store are new and can’t put a lid on a cup. I’m gonna try to take it as light as I can but I already know it’s going to be busy from the time I start till til my departure
