So it was the day before launch and two of my coworkers were out changing the menu boards for the holiday stuff.
Anyways, literally as they are putting it up a woman comes to the drive thru and orders a white chocolate mocha Frappuccino “like the one on the screen” is what she later said she asked for.
ANYWAYS, I hand her her white mocha Frappuccino and she asks “where are the toppings?” And I’m like ??? “I’m sorry ma’am but the white mocha Frappuccino doesn’t come with topping” and she was like “it does on the screen outside.” And I finally put it all together and remembered that they are changing the screen. So when I tried to explain that the one on the screen was the toasted white mocha that launches tomorrow (at the time), she was like
“Why didn’t you tell me that when I ordered it?” And then when I tell her that I didn’t realize that was what she actually wanted to order because I can’t see the menu outside, she STILL kept trying to argue about it even when I was offering another drink.
AND THEN, when I was offering her another Frappuccino or literally anything else, she turns to me as if that is a crazy proposal and goes “can he at least try it first???” (the Frappuccino was for her 16 year old brother or something and he literally looked abnormally unfazed by her arguing) and I go “of course, no problem”
AND THIS KID TAKES 4 SIPS OF HIS FRAPPUCCINO AND HIS FACE CONTORTS IN DISGUST. He gave me the Frappuccino and the woman goes “he usually orders a Carmel Frappuccino with extra caramel drizzle.”
So then I make the drink, hand it to them, then they sit in the drive thru for an extra 30 seconds I guess to see if the drink was screwed up, but like WHY WOULD I PURPOSELY SCREW YOUR DRINK UP 5 MINUTES BEFORE I CLOCK OUT, LET ALONE AT ALL?????
I’m convinced that she was really just found an opportunity to try to haggle for a refund and get a free drink, so then she took it.
