I quit recently for the same reason. Management was condescending and coworkers were catty as all get out. I had to miss a week of work due to an infection, and came to find out all week they’d been making jokes about how ‘sick’ I was (believing I just played hookie, which I don’t do). It was demoralizing, draining, and not worth the pay. And that’s not even bringing in the customers who treated us like trash. I found a career path that gave me an offer but needed me to start immediately, and I jumped on it. Much happier now!

I think you should wait until/ if the transfer happens. Not every store is the same for sure. I read horror stories on here about stores like yours and get confused because I just started a month ago and my team is the best co workers I’ve ever had and wouldn’t trade them for the world. I really hope they transfer you and it’s to a better store! Stay strong dude.

I actually just quit my store for the same reason. I found myself crying in my car after some days it was so bad. I made sure I had a new job lined up elsewhere and then wrote a resignation letter stating my two weeks notice. If you do quit just leave professionally, you never know what the future holds. And be sure to talk with your manager in person. Good luck.

I just started my new kiosk last night. I've been working at a different location for the last month until this new one opened. The people at the old one were so awesome and so easy to get along with. This new one is going to be difficult it looks like. I'm in my mid 30s and the other staff is all under 20. The Manager on duty was only 18. She was barking orders and on some weird power trip. She was being a huge cunt.
Um, no. I'm not being bossed around by some teenager on a power trip. I did what I wanted. I did not want to be stuck on a register all night because "only managers get to make coffee". She didn't even know what a black and white was and told a customer we didn't have it. I laughed so hard and made one for the customer. I went and worked hot bar after a while on my own. We had 9 people closing last night, too lol!. I am putting my transfer in to go back to the original store I was at. Oh forgot to add she threatened to have me fired if I sampled the new holiday drinks but took all the pastries home with her at closing lol.g Awesome leadership, right?

We have one shift who is always all up our store managers ass. They have a close relationship, like our SM buys the SSV gifts and let’s said shift get away with everything under the sun. They are both petty af. If anybody challenges the lazy ass shift, hours get cut, shade is thrown in any and every direction. It’s an awful place to be when they are together... which is most of the time.

My manager told me if I wanted to leave to check out the other location first. To sort of 'feel out' what the other baristas are like before transferring.

Go to the other stores and talk to the baristas about their opinions of the management. We had a girl come to our store a few weeks ago and leave her info after hearing that our SM is awesome and our store is fantastic, which is a stark contrast to what she deals with on a regular basis.
