In tarbucks. I’m not sure why we sold him all of these tbh. I was disappointed to find we had sold out that fast and that I wouldn’t be able to get one. Looks like I still can :) Just had to get through the pain of refunding these one by one and risking the pos system crashing.
nightshadecorvii30 points3y ago
Omg did he say why??
annr13 [OP]73 points3y ago
His plan was to resell them on ebay and he told me his sister bought this much at another store and he didn’t need these anymore.
deltaWhiskey91L16 points3y ago
So why didn't they sell both?
Saoirse_Says14 points3y ago
Solid plan tbh

Where the heck did he even find that many of each of those cups?!!! Our store had 3 of each of them in stock for like 3 seconds and then they were gone!!! That had to be a fun return! 🙄
annr13 [OP]14 points3y ago
I guess we got a big shipment 🤷🏻♀️ we’re a super target i’m not sure tbh.
cactusgrab7 points3y ago
My target got a similar amount. I have literally no idea what to do with all of them

So our system is if someone returns a mug, we can’t resell it. I’m not sure if that’s true for you guys but I hope it’s not??? Or is so you can have them???
annr13 [OP]18 points3y ago
Never heard that rule be enforced at our store, if that was the case that would be so bad dear lord.
BadDadBot-69 points3y ago
Hi not sure if that’s true for you guys but i hope it’s not??? or is so you can have them???, I'm dad.

I don't work for Starbucks anymore, it's been about 4 years, but bless all of you for making it through holiday. This hurts me lol.
saruhhhhhhhh16 points3y ago
we’re you guys worried about fraud? like maybe he used a bad credit card to buy it and now he returned it for real money? i know there’s some way people can do that now a days. idk it just seems sketchy to return that much stuff ONE day later.
realyeahra10 points3y ago
If he used a credit card to make the purchase, merchant should also refund the money to the same cc that was used for the purchase. This is to prevent the situation you mentioned.
KarluhO9 points3y ago
At my store anything over $25 has to be store credit. Either way there's no way we would've taken that much product back. We would've sent them to the original store and made sure they had the receipt
Koalastars0096 points3y ago
Same stuff happens at our target Starbucks on a smaller scale. People are just buying to resell. But if the customers don’t pay the resell prices guys like this will move on to resell something else. Or be stuck with a lot of cups. Encourage your customers not to buy them on eBay.
nightkat893 points3y ago
I’d refuse the return. Fuck him
zoeperrier2 points3y ago
someone bought ALL the pink ones at our store and told my boss he was going to sell them on ebay for $60 each and she just like good for you man
annr13 [OP]1 points3y ago
literally the same exact scenario that was what he said too
schroedingerzbarista1 points3y ago
Unpopular opinion: I can’t stand the texture of these cups.
gbckoran1 points3y ago
I thought this was an actual starbucks store for a sec its the target one
whoreforcheese1 points3y ago
Yea we don’t put all of ours out at once for this reason, we tell people that we get them sent in every so often so it can limit the amount they buy, we have a lady who will buy EVERY SINGLE CUP IN THE STORE so we have to hide them because if not we won’t have enough to last past launch
kattsmeow171 points3y ago
Scared someone is gonna do this to my store.
LocalSpaceCadet1 points3y ago
I would have actually quit then and there??
I saw those were coming back in the now brewing and they were the explicit reason I went to EVERYONE in the department and said 'one per guest' 🙃
